Green Strategies for Building Design

Green Strategies for Building Design explores passive sustainable strategies in Architectural Design. It looks at the different elements that make up architecture and how the integration of passive design strategies with these elements contribute to the quality of spatial experience within a building.

01. Comparative Case Studies Poster & Booklet

The first project for my green strategies module. In groups of 6, we were tasked to choose 2 existing building both in different climate settings (Tropical, Continental, etc.) and perform a in-depth analysis on their respective sustainable strategies and compile them into a booklet and a poster. For my group, we had chosen the Bioclimatic Flexi-Office in Vietnam and The Kendeda Building in the United States of America.

02. Green Building Strategies Report

The second project of Green Strategies is an integrated project with my Architectural Design IV module. I was required to record the different passive design and sustainable strategies I had used for my studio project and compile them into a report booklet.

Reflection

Throughout this module, I have learned a lot regarding the functionality of passive sustainable design in architecture and how imperative it is to include them in the modern day era's building design. It was an interesting process for me to understand how different climate zones have their own ways of passive design and how I could integrate them into my own designs.
