This is a group project of 10 students per group where we were required to conduct research on a selected building within Malaysia, presenting our research through an architectural analysis booklet inclusive of the building's history, architect and any relevant architectural information. Other than the report, we were also required to present our findings via an A1 sized poster and a functioning augmented reality infographic accessed from the poster.

For my group, our chosen building was the Stadium Negara at Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

This individual project involves researching the history and architectural details of five selected buildings, each from different periods of time in the past. Then, I had to present my information in the form of an A4 sized booklet, inclusive of drawings or sketches that aid me in showing my research.

04. Reflection

Throughout the entire semester of this module, I have learned and gained knowledge about many forms of architecture over the centuries. It's given me insight of how much humans have evolved with their capabilities and their ideal of aesthetics regarding the spaces they occupy. Where humans, driven by will or faith, will always find ways to project it onto their spaces in order to convey the message they wish to spread. Whether it be the magnificence of greater divinity in their grand halls and towering spires, or the practicality of function in their communal squares and simplistic neighbourhoods.

In regards to the assignments, it has thought me to not only appreciate buildings just for their final outcomes, but also for the process in which they go through to achieve it. I have gained deeper curiosity to understand this process better, their purpose, their materials, their methods; I now not only look at a building because they look pretty, but I also look to seek just where in their crevices will I discover what thoughts the architect had.
