Architectural Design IV
Architectural Design IV explores design by harnessing environmental qualities and conditions for human and environment sustainability through a project with a specific community of users within a given context. The projects involve studies of precedents on design projects that are responsive to the environmental conditions and sustainable issues.
01. Site Analysis & Design Response - Design for Community
The first project for my fourth studio module. This first assignment was split into two parts: the first part involves the entire studio as a group effort to study and analyse our given site, which was Taman Wawasan Rekreasi in Puchong, Selangor. Being split into different tasks such as social content, natural features and more, we were to compile all of our findings into a booklet that would be further used in our following projects. The second part we were split into our tutorial groups to do a specific site analysis and design response according to our assigned part of the site, this information would then be compiled into 4 A0 boards.

02. Small Community Structure
The second project of Architectural Design IV had us split into two groups from within our tutorial groups. We were assigned to design a small structure for a specific community within the park. Our group had decided to focus on the Woodball Community of Taman Wawasan.

03. MyReka-reasi Cluster
The third and final project of Architectural Design IV, i was tasked to design a 900sqm community recreational hub within Taman Wawasan Rekreasi Puchong. It was to include list of programmes in relation to our concept, have sustainable strategies and details of our construction.

Reflection
Throughout this module, I have gained a deeper understanding of designing spaces tailored to specific users and creating designs that respond thoughtfully to environmental conditions. I have also learned to design and conceptualise based on the social needs of a community. While the process was not without its challenges such as time crunches and occasional creative and progressive blocks, with the help of tutor feedback and online resources I was able to overcome them and come to a result I was proud of.
